Jo Ann and Roy Nelson
Please share a bit about your background:
Both of us grew up on the south side of Racine and have shared a passion for collecting throughout our 30 years of marriage. We both enjoy going to various sales and flea markets. Roy keeps finding things he doesn’t know he needs until he finds it. Jo Ann has been in the business for a number of years as an antique shop owner and traveled throughout the United States as a Depression Glass dealer. Roy recently joined their new venture full time after his retirement earlier this year.
What was the inspiration for your business?
Retirement and downsizing.
What’s your most popular item(s)?
Racine items – especially from SC Johnson and Horlick, boxes – all sizes and shapes, old hand tools, Mr. Peanut items and kitchen utensils and gadgets.
Do you have a little-known specialty?
We have a large collection of items from English coronations, Scouting memorabilia, collectables and glassware from Fostoria, Cambridge and Fiesta.
Can you share a sneak peek to your future plans?
Continue along the same path – more sales, flea markets and downsizing our collections to add inventory to our store.
