Downtown Racine Corp. is bringing the Fire and Ice Festival, along with Restaurant Week back in January for the second year.
On Saturday, Jan. 19, from noon to 5 p.m., join us on Monument Square for DRC’s 2nd Annual Fire and Ice Festival. This free community event will feature ice sculptures, ice skating, bon fires, blanket drive, food trucks, shopping and more!
Ice carvers will start their work at noon and shape huge blocks of ice right before your very eyes into amazing sculptures. Be sure to vote for your favorite sculpture after the event on Downtown Racine’s Facebook page.
Do a little carving yourself by taking advantage of the free ice skating rink on the Square. Free ice skate rentals will be available from noon – 5 p.m. Renters must provide staff with an ID to hold while skates are in use.
Enjoy a stroll through our vendor area to shop and get something to eat at one of the yummy food trucks on site or grab a hot cup of cocoa and warm up by the bon fire.
During the festival, DRC will host a blanket drive to help those less fortunate. Please consider bringing a blanket to donate. Can’t make it that day? Milaeger’s (4838 Douglas Ave, Racine and 8717 Highway 11, Sturtevant) will accept blanket donations from Jan. 1-20. As a thank you, receive a coupon for one regular coffee in their cafe for each blanket donated.
While downtown, stay for a bite to eat. Jan. 19 will be the official kickoff to Downtown Racine’s 2nd Annual Restaurant Week. Use your Restaurant Week card to get 15 percent off your food at all of the participating locations from Jan. 19-26. Restaurant Week discount cards are available at the Downtown Racine Corporation office (425 Main Street) and at all participating locations. Visit three restaurants during the week and be entered to win one of five $20 downtown gift certificates!
